Angel Olsen has been one of many artists who have taken to using their social media to connect with their audience and share some music for a feeling of some normality amid the coronavirus outbreak.
After previously releasing sharing her cover of Roxy Music’s ‘More Than This’ from the comfort of her own home, Olsen has now shared her cover of Tori Amos’ 1992 classic ‘Winter’ and announced a new ticketed show for charity.
Olsen may well have released some of her finest music last year in her album All Mirrors, but that hasn’t stopped the singer continuing to experiment with her music while on COVID-19 induced lockdown.
The singer shared her cover of Amos’ song via her Instagram account, saying, “Took several tries to get this one down, who knew? I’m 15 again,” in the caption of the post. “I’m gonna continue to post these covers and short videos, mainly to stay limber and experiment-but I’ve decided to do a legit livestream for the band and crew and other musicians in need.”
Olsen detailed the event saying, Still At Home: An Evening of Songs on Piano and Guitar will be a ticketed livestream event, which will see her perform some old and new songs. “Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day of show with proceeds going to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Effort and directly to my touring band and crew who, like so many artists and musicians, have been affected.”
The show will begin at 10 pm GMT on April 11th and judging by her latest efforts this is going to be one hell of a show.
