All-star line-up announced for Robby Krieger’s The Doors 60th anniversary concert

The Doors‘ Robby Krieger has confirmed huge plans to celebrate the band’s 60th anniversary.

The event is set to take place in Los Angeles at the Greek Theater on October 30th with Krieger to be joined by a string of acclaimed names from the music industry who have been inspired by The Doors.

Major artists include former Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, Billy Idol and his guitarist Steve Stevens, Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley, and Stone Temple Pilots’ Robert DeLeo.

Additionally, Greg Gonzalez from Cigarettes After Sex, Fantastic Negrito, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Stephen Adler, Carmine Appice, Candlebox’s Kevin Martin and Adam Kury, as well as Orianthi, will also be involved.

The concert will begin with a performance from Tripform, which includes Pablo Manzarek, the son of former Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek.

Krieger said of the upcoming show: “Sixty years or so ago when The Doors were happening, I had no idea that in the next century, we would still be talking about and playing The Doors records.”

He earnestly continued, “I feel so blessed that just about every day someone stops me and recognizes me and wants to talk about The Doors and to thank me for making the music that they love still today. The people that recognize me seem to be getting nicer all the time… I like to say that it’s a good problem to have.”

Additionally, on November 21st, The Doors are set to release the live album, Live at the Aquarius Theatre: The First Performance, which captures their intimate performance at the Aquarius Theatre on Sunset Boulevard on July 21st, 1969.

It is set to be made available as a 180-gram triple-LP set on Analogue Productions and is strictly limited to 2,000 copies.
