Alfie Templeman has shared the dazzling new single ‘Obvious Guy’ which has been accompanied with a stunning animated video.
The Bedford 17-year-old’s delightful new single debuted on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show last night and Templeman has now accompanied the track with colourful animated visuals by Tom Cotton and Jake Huffcutt.
Speaking on the song he says, “I really love funk music and have always wanted to venture into it more and more with my own music – so it was great fun doing exactly that with the amazing Nick Hodgson. It came together extremely quickly and everything is super tight.”
He adds of the animated accompanying video by Cotton Studios and Jake Huffcutt, “I love the ‘Obvious Guy’ video because it’s so colourful and sums up the track perfectly. It shows the whole vibe of feeling unwanted until you find the right people in life.”
Templeman recently teamed up with Chess Club Records labelmates for ‘My Best Friend’ which he enlisted vocal assistance from Coach Party’s Jess Eastwood on.
“It’s about depression and sadness being the only thing that’s always there for you as if it’s the only thing that really sticks around and lurks behind everything you do,” Templeman said of that track. “It’s as if these feelings are the closest thing to you, like your best friend.”
