Actor charged for attempted murder after attempting to flee the US
Nick Pasqual, an American background actor who has appeared in television programmes such as How I Met Your Mother, has been arrested and charged over the attempted partner of his ex-girlfriend.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, Pasqual has been charged with allegedly stabbing his estranged former partner, Allie Shehorn, who also works in the movie industry as a make-up artist.
The police report states that the incident allegedly took place around 4:30am on May 23rd when Pasqual entered Shehorn’s home before stabbing her multiple times. Shehorn, who has worked on films such as Rebel Moon and Babylon, was then hospitalised where she remains in a critical condition.
Following the alleged attack, Pasqual reportedly attempted to flee California, but was later detained upon arriving at the border after trying to enter Mexico in Sierra Blanca, Texas. The actor was detained, and issued with a $1.07million arrest warrant. Pasqual is set to be extradited to Los Angeles, and if found guilty, he could face a life prison sentence.
He has officially been charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree residential burglary with person present and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office.
Before the alleged attack, Shehorn had been granted a restraining order against her former partner. However, it’s unknown whether she had the opportunity to serve the legal document before the hospitalisation.
In recent days, Shehorn’s friends have launched a fundraising page for the make-up artist, stating she is currently in a “critical condition” following the alleged stabbing.
They praised her as “a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness, and love” and revealed, “The road to recovery will be long and arduous, but with your support, we can help ease her burden and provide the financial assistance she desperately needs.”
Furthermore, the Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has described the attack as “heinous” and labelled it “a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence”.
Gascón continued: “Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her…”
He also stated the office will “ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions.”
Pasqual is yet to comment on the charges.
This is a developing story.
