Actor Awards 2026: Harrison Ford pays tribute to Calista Flockhart during tearful speech
Harrison Ford has paid tribute to his “extraordinary” wife, Calista Flockhart, while accepting the Lifetime Achievement honour at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards.
The 83-year-old Star Wars actor was accompanied by Flockhart at the ceremony, and used his speech to celebrate their love.
The Hunger Games actor Woody Harrelson presented his friend with the award, while describing him as an “iconic actor” with an “indescribable energy he brings to everything he does”.
During his speech, Ford referenced his “extraordinary, beautiful wife”, as well as his family. He added that they had “given me love and courage through all of it.”
Ford and Ally McBeal star Flockhart have been married for 16 years; they met at the Golden Globe Awards in 2002, when Flockhart was nominated for Ally McBeal, and Ford was being honoured.
Looking back on his life, Ford also became emotional during the speech as he reflected on his long, illustrious career.
He began, “‘I feel incredibly grateful for this kind attention, but to be clear, I’m also quite humbled.”
He went on, ‘I’m in a room of actors, many of whom are here because they’ve been nominated to receive a prize for their amazing work. Well, I’m here to receive a prize for being alive.”
Though Ford admitted that at times in his career he had “struggled” to make things work, he paid tribute to directors such as George Lucas and Steve Spielberg, who he wouldn’t have made it without.
As such, the star deemed himself a “lucky guy – lucky to have found my people, lucky to have work that challenges me, lucky to still be doing it, and I don’t take that for granted.”
Michael B Jordan, Jessie Buckley, and the late Catherine O’Hara were the biggest winners at the March 1st ceremony. Notably, Jordan beat out the hotly predicted favourite Timothée Chalamet for the ‘Best Lead Male Actor’ award.
