A restored video of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s ‘Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)’ has been released
If you find yourself on a daily hunt for unfound moments of The Beatles’ career, then we have a new John Lennon video for you.
Now, a previously unreleased and newly restored video of John Lennon and Yoko Ono‘s ‘Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)’ has been shared.
The new video has arrived as part of the box set Power To The People, which is due for release on October 10th. The set looks to explore the couple’s time in New York City as Lennon transformed from a Beatles icon into a political activist.
The new set looks to dive into that activism through previously unreleased demos, home recordings, jam sessions, live cuts, unique mixes and a whole lot more.
A restored recording is always likely to keep fans excited but the recording of ‘Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)’ is taken from the afternoon performance of their ‘One To One’ concerts from Madison Square Garden.
They were Lennon’s only full-length performances following his departure from The Beatles and would be the final performances he gave alongside his wife before his tragic death in 1980.
“That Madison Square Garden gig was the best music I enjoyed playing since The Cavern or even Hamburg,” John Lennon told NME of the MSG shows in 1972. “It was just the same kind of feeling when The Beatles used to really get into it.”
The ‘One To One’ concert was held 53 years ago, and sees Lennon at a unique point in his incredible career.
