A Place To Bury Strangers – We’ve Come So Far

NYC’s A Place To Bury Strangers (APTBS) started their latest release ‘We’ve Come So Far’ with a cacophony of white noise. Abrasive and at times infuriatingly stringent it sets up a toxic Saturday night and has to be our Track of the Day.

The white noise does desist for the dual vocals to become a vocal duel as the male and female lyrics ring around like a post-punk poem.

This to and fro continues until 90 seconds from the end the ‘noise’ wins out and we are treated to some of the ugliest sounds this side of Grinderman. The kind of ugly that is both bereft of any consequence and entirely poignant in it eventual demise.

The second single from their forthcoming album, their fourth LP, ‘We’ve Come So Far’ highlights the band’s talent and teases at what the new album will be.
