Marc Almond and multi-instrumentalist Dave Ball have decided to bring back 80s synth-pop pioneers Soft Cell for one final show in London.
The performance comes as the band’s first UK show in 15 years: “With Soft Cell I always felt something was unfinished,” said singer Marc Almond. “This last ever final show will be the best ever ending. It will be a real statement and send off, and thank you to every fan.”
Perhaps best known for their version of ‘Tainted Love’, Soft Cell had four Top 20 albums between 1981 and 1984 before splitting in that year. The band would reform again in 2001 to record and release their fifth studio album, Cruelty Without Beauty in 2002.
Soft Cell will play the O2 Arena in London on September 30, 2018.
