Musician and actor 50 Cent has been criticised for mocking Terry Crews for being a victim of sexual assault.
50 Cent, real name Curtis James Jackson, has now deleted a post on Instagram in which he jokes about Crews.
Crews recently came out as a survivor of abuse and, in court, explained why he did not fight back against the man he accused of sexually assaulting him: “The assault lasted only minutes, but what he was effectively telling me while he held my genitals in his hand, was that he held the power,” he said in his opening statement. “That he was in control.
“This is how toxic masculinity permeates culture,” he added.
The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star testified about his sexual assault incident in front of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. In it, he was asked why he did not defend himself as a “big powerful man,” to which he responded:

In the wake of his response, Crews received countless messages of support praising him for his bravery. Some however, took a difference stance and 50 Cent is among that group. The rapper posted a photo of Crews shirtless with the text: “I got raped / My wife just watched” and then another of Crews with a rose in his mouth which said “Gym time.”
He added the caption: “LOL what the f**k is going on out here man? Terry: I froze in fear… they would have had to take me to jail. Get the strap.”
