The Districts – Peaches

We have been a little bit in love with the Pennsylvanian rock and roll merchants The Districts the past few months. Following on from their successful debut LP we have been treated to the incredible first track from their upcoming album A Flourish and a Spoil, that track was ‘4th and Roebling’ and it very nearly made me move to America.

So now we have the second release, from what is turning out to be an extremely promising new album, ‘Peaches’. This second track isn’t maybe as gritty and intensely rising as ‘4th and Roebling’ was but ‘Peaches still has the veracious vision and heartfelt ferocity which made the previous so tangible.

‘Peaches’ is said to best represent the overarching theme of the LP which is “about how things grow but eventually fall apart, kind of like a loss of innocence type of thing.” a reference to their move from a small town to a big, bad city and all the fun that comes with it.

The Lp is out on Fat Possum records on February 10th but see them at The 100 club, London on February 3rd to grasp the whole picture of what an exciting band The Districts truly are.
