Spring King rev their engines with ‘Detroit’

The Manc band have been flirting with the outer reaches of the mainstream over the previous months and ‘Detroit’ shows that although they may be becoming media darlings what they’re really good at is making break-neck garage records to thunder your feet and spill beer over your friend’s head to.

Taken from the acclaimed LP Tell Me If You Like To the track has all the Spring King hallmarks. A yelped and raw energy which permeates every note. ‘Detroit’ is part of a furious live set which is something that needs to be experienced to be believed. Thunderous beats and a thrashing guitar that would befall any businessman to down the suit and tie and throw themselves in to the pit.

The band’s rabid and racing tempo is not going to go away fast (badum tish), but with every track Spring King are starting to set themselves in to the collective conscience and with rip-roaring sings such as this, it is easy to see why.
