Marilyn Manson has parted ways with his long-term bassist Twiggy Ramirez after Jack Off Jill singer Jessicka Addams accused him of rape and sexual assault.
Ramirez, born Jeordie White, has been accused in a detailed statement by Jessicka Addams, the lead singer of Jack Off Jill, claiming that Ramirez became increasingly physical during a time the two were dating in the 1990s when she was just 18 years of age.
“He forced me on to the floor with his hand around my neck,” she wrote. “I said NO. I said NO. I said it so loud enough, that Pete came rushing in from the other room to get him off of me. But I had been raped. I had been raped by somebody I thought I loved.”
Now, in response to the news, Manson has shared his feelings in a statement addressing the accusation and parted ways with Ramirez.
“I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson. He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well,” he wrote on twitter.
“I knew Jessicka and Jeordie had a romantic relationship many years ago and I considered and still consider Jessicka to be a friend,” Manson previously said. “I knew nothing about these allegations until very recently and am saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress.”
White left Manson’s band in 2002 before returning in 2008.
