We continue flying the flag for South Londoner Loyle Carner and his expert analysis of the social climate that surrounds through his medium of authentic hip-hop. All that flag waving reached a bit fo a frenzy when we learned of his impending tour.
So instead of giving you just the details, though we will of course provide them – we are serious journalists after all… we thought we’d give you three reasons to make sure you see the man in concert yourself.
1. He’s the best around at what he does.
Carner manages to create imagery that is at times star-filled and distant and at others as real as the grime under your nails. A poignant poet as well as expert rapper there is very little challenge to his intellectually and rhythmically astute brand of hip-hop.
2. He’s bloody good live.
We’ve seen him. We know it. Expect a mix of easy flow, erudite lyrics, a dash of spoken word and a whole heap of good times.
3. You’ll be able to say “I saw him when”.
Honestly, Carner can go as far as he wants, the sold out show at KOKO testifies to that. He has the style, grace, panache and artistry to push himself to global superstardom. But likely, based on his output he has his sights set on something more tangible, more real and, all in all, something he can be proud of.
The details of the dates are below and we strongly suggest you get yourself a ticket before it’s too late. 2017 is going to be a huge one for the rapper, so make sure you’re not left behind.
