As the saga of the Libertines continues to roll on – Pete Doherty has successfully banished his demons at a rehabilitation centre in Thailand, the Likely Lads have reunited (again) for another string of summer shows, and (perhaps most importantly) the band finally confirmed they’ll follow up their critically acclaimed duo of albums with their first new material in over 10 years.
At Netherlands festival Best Kept Secret the Libertines gave fans a taste of just what to expect from the eagerly anticipated new album.
Caught on video by an fan camera, the band introduced new track ‘Gunga Gin’, a dubby little number, with a sound to suggest there’s not been too much change in the in style and substance from these cult icons.
Since the band reformed it certainly hasn’t seemed like they have been in any rush to get their new album ready for release, so let’s hope it’s not too long.
