The covers are coming thick and fast now. We have had Wolf Alice cover ‘Santa Baby‘ and Charly Bliss cover ‘All I Want Fort Christmas Is You’. Now we have another from Rostam as he covers the frankly, almost, untouchable ‘Fairytale of New York’.

Firstly, do not try to argue that it is clearly one of the best Christmas songs ever written, just don’t. Secondly, the former Vampire Weekend man’s cover is pretty damn good. Considering the magnitude of the song he’s covering that isn’t bad going.

Completed as part of the Spotify Singles sessions that have been running recently, Rostam takes on the classic track from The Pogues and Kirsty McCall with a fresh vibrancy, while thankfully keeping the jaunty bridge.

Take a listen and enjoy.
