Pussy Riot have shared a brand new video starring Chloë Sevigny for their incendiary track ‘police State’, a track released in connection with the centenary of the 1917 Russian Revolution.

Directed by Matt Creed it sees Sevigny as a baton-wielding riot police officer in a clearly inflammatory dystopian vision of life. In a statement, the group’s Nadya Tolokonnikova criticizes “autocratic, conservative, right-wing leaders” who are “spreading around the world like a sexually transmitted disease.”

She goes on, “Soviet dissidents were fighting against one of the most oppressive governments on the planet and shared their own D.I.Y. magazines (samizdat) via secret networks. Labor union leaders and civil rights activists were dying for their beliefs in the U.S. And it actually did make our world a better place.”

‘Police State’ was produced by long time collaborator Ricky Reed and follows on from Pussy Riot’s continual condemnation of Putin’s Russia. Having recently brought Trump Tower to a grinding halt, to protest the detention of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Senstov, now they’re back to their day-job in a big fucking way.
