Ahead of the release of their new album The Weather, POND have unveiled the spaced out visuals for new single ‘Paint Me Silver’. In truly subversive POND style, the Alejandro Miguel Justino Crawford directed animated clip finds an intergalactic dance party erupting across Earth, despite an impending threat of nuclear war. The video accompanies one of The Weather’s biggest pop moments, with falsetto vocals colliding with swirling synths and surf rock guitars.

The tracks heard from The Weather thus far point toward their most precise yet diverse album yet. Album opener ‘30000 Megatons’ flirts with bombastic rock opera, while the recently streamed title track ‘The Weather’ is in the same breath contemplative and otherworldly. There’s further pop magic in the single ‘Sweep Me Off My Feet’, which has been playlisted at BBC 6.

POND have just played the first weekend of Coachella and following the second leg this weekend, they will head out on an extensive US and Canadian tour. The band will celebrate the release of The Weather with a run of European dates, including their largest UK headline show to date at The O2 Forum, London. The band will return to the UK later in the summer to play Reading and Leeds Festivals and End of the Road Festival.

The Weather is released 5th May via Marathon Artists
