Friday’s Track of the Day is a raucous piece of garage punk that is the perfect way to blow off the cobwebs of a trying working week and just let go. London-based rockers Sauna Youth have been thrilling audiences for a couple of years now and recently hit the studio to record their new album.

However, an unassuming session of instrument-swapping that was meant to be nothing more than a playful bit of respite during a rehearsal has led to whole new band. That band is Monotony.

Their track ‘Back to the Castle’ is a full-on aural assault that not only marks the beginning of an exciting new project, but also demonstrates the versatility and unbridled energy of a band who can be seen popping up at Dalston’s Power Lunches Arts Cafe on an almost residential basis.

In fact, they played their first gig as Monotony at that very venue just last week. When the new Sauna Youth record lands we might well see the moniker put on the backburner, but for now Far Out intends to spend every last second revelling in the rabble-rousing sounds of this reconstructed four-piece.
