Today’s Track of the Day comes courtesy of Mazes. Taken from their third studio album Wooden Aquarium, set for release on 8th September – ‘Salford’ has been branded as an ‘ode to Manchester’s second city’.

Bought to life with the help of Parquet Courts producer Jonathan Schenke ‘Salford’ is an pays tribute to the 90s. It becomes inherently obvious the track was recorded in the States, New York City to be precise, as from the off the it is a huge nod to NYC rock king-pins the Strokes.

The combination of male/female overlapping vocals over the top of lo-fi guitars is something to be loved. Bring on the new album.
