Dog Legs member Moema Meade has teamed up with the excellent Manchester collection Icecapades to release some solo material under the alter ego, Lady Neptune.

As a follow up to the sold out E.P. Saves Planet Earth Lady Neptune brings us ‘Words’ as part of the typically curious Destroys The Moon record, having been self produced in her bedroom with an abundance of scuzz punk layers propping up Meade’s brilliantly reckless and unforgiving vocals.

With a short tour ahead, Moema has rounded the troops by bringing along members of Shopping and H. Grimace as hired guns for her live band (along with producer of this E.P, Joey Fourr), she said:

Lady Neptune came about because I’m in other bands that are really fun, but I had all these other songs that were really different, so I thought I’d put them all together. I called it Lady Neptune; I guess as an alter ego, I think she’s more colourful than I am. The whole thing was meant to be space themed, with the Neptune thing. I guess she’s a bit out of this world, or trying to be”
