With their debut album on the way to your ears on Friday (January 12th) via Dead Oceans – and it’s pretty bloody good – Shame took their swashbuckling sound to the greener fields of BBC Radio 1 and Annie Mac’s show.

[MORE] FULL REVIEW – Shame – Songs of Praise

The band performed some of the tracks from the new LP Songs of Praise, ‘One Rizla’ and ‘Concrete’ were blasted across the Maida Vale studio. Apart from all the Songs of Praise goodness there was also a brilliant cover of ‘Rock Lobster’.

The B-52’s hit also had a splicing of ‘Stairway To Heaven’ added in for good measure “stairway to lobster” as vocalist Charlie Steen put it. So with BBC Radio 1 now clearly conquered what is left for the band? You can hear the whole show here.
