Track of the Day at Far Out Magazine this Saturday is a quad-crunching electronic reimagining of a krautrock classic, courtesy of Super Furry Animals bassist Guto Pryce and his side project, Gulp.

This time around the band, which is also fronted by Linsey Leven, have tried their hand at Kraftwerk’s ‘Tour de France’ to celebrate this summer’s instalment of the iconic cycling competition.

Also on board is Glasgow producer Miaoux Miaoux, who has given the rendition a beat-heavy electronic twist that brings it right into the 21st Century.

It’s the perfect balance of respecting a classic enough not to mess with it, while also injecting it with with a freshness that with a bit of luck may even turn a few youngsters onto the Dusseldorf quartet.

The unveiling of the track is even more admirable given that Pryce has been touring relentlessly recently with with Gruff Rhys and his other Super Furries bandmates.
