Today’s Track of the Day feature is a comeback single from one of our favourite singer-songwriters to emerge over the last few years, Ezra Furman.

His debut album Day of the Dog came out two years ago now, but here at Far Out we can still remember being enchanted from the very first bars that we heard of launch single ‘My Zero’.

We became even more obsessed after catching him on the live stage at festivals such as Dot to Dot and Bestival last summer, but the greatest news of all is the arrival of a new album that will be with us this summer on Bella Union.

‘Restless Year’ is the first snippet to be taken from the record and demonstrates that Furman has managed to maintain all his trademark rawness and punk ethos this time around, while still treating listeners to a crafted songwriting approach and witty lyrical output.

That’s why there really were few challengers when it cam to choosing the victor of today’s title. Welcome back Ezra!
