The xx brought the best of their three-album artilary to the California desert when they played Coachella festival on Saturday night.

Armed not only with the weapons among new album I See You, the band brought out their very special light show courtesy of a series of colourful drones at the end of the set.

Having opened with new single ‘Say Something Loving’, The xx went on to play fan favourites ‘Crystalised’ and ‘Islands’ taken from their 2009 self-titled debut album.

At one point the band also joined together to perform ‘Loud Places’ from Jamie xx’s solo album In Colour.

Band member Oliver Sim told the crowd, “I’ll tell you what, I do not have the words to tell you how happy we are to be here. Thank you so much for having us.”
